As time marches on, we continue to see the attacks being “Ramped Up” against Christian ideals and convictions as our society turns against the very faith that it was founded upon.
According to reports, Kim Davis, A Kentucky Clerk, was jailed after she defied federal courts by refusing to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples — stating that it violated her Christian Faith.
Because of her disobedience, the Clerk was ordered detained for contempt of court.
When prosecutors attempted to “cut a deal” with Davis that proposed to allow her deputies to process same-sex marriage licenses on her behalf, David rejected the deal — presumably because any involvement would still violate her conscience.
As Davis buckled down on her stance, Judge David L. Bunning of the United States District Court secured commitments from 5 of the remaining deputies and instructed them to go ahead and began issuing marriage licenses to same-sex couples.
“The court cannot condone the willful disobedience of its lawfully issued order,” Judge Bunning said. “If you give people the opportunity to choose which orders they follow, that’s what potentially causes problems.”

Despite her troubling conditions, Davis has since become an iconic figure in the fight for religious liberty and the “push back” against what many consider an unlawful and unconstitutional ruling by the Supreme Court. (Learn More)
Since her imprisonment, Davis has gained Nation-wide support — with even GOP Presidential Candidates such as Governor Mike Huckabee and Senator Ted Cruz with both candidates voicing their support for her religious defiance.
“Today, judicial lawlessness crossed into judicial tyranny,” Senator Ted Cruz, Republican of Texas, said in a statement.
However Davis has also Garnered Nation-wide attack from those who disagree her position on the issue.
Davis has been painted as a “Hypocrite” for denying same-sex couples marriage licenses, with critics pointing out that Davis has been married 4 times in her past.
However her critics conveniently leave out the fact that Davis was divorced 4 times before converting to Christianity in 2011, when her mother passed away.
Furthermore, many argue that even if she was divorced after Converting — that would in no paint her as a hypocrite because the bible makes it clear that “all have sinned”. However what separates a Christian from a non-believer is the “willingness” to acknowledge ones sin and make a valiant effort to change.
The Lawyer for Mrs. Davis, Roger Gannam, greatly criticized the ruling to imprison Davis and stated that this should be a warning sign to Christians all across America.
“Today, for the first time in history, an American citizen has been incarcerated for having the belief of conscience that marriage is the union of one man and one woman,” Mr. Gannam said after a hearing that stretched deep into Thursday afternoon.
“And she’s been ordered to stay there until she’s willing to change her mind, until she’s willing to change her conscience about what belief is.”
