Lately, President Obama has received an explosion of criticism from both sides of the political aisle for his “Do Nothing” foreign policy which has essentially allowed ISIS (Now an Army) to conquer most of Iraq.
Yesterday evening — In an address to the Nation, President Obama took to the podium to defend his actions. The President started the briefing by stating that the goal of his foreign policy in Iraq is to “Degrade and Destroy” the terror threat now known as ISIS/ISIL
(Islamic State of Iraq and Syria/Levant).
The President followed this statement by overtly bragging about his former accomplishments against a former terror-group, Al Qaeda.
As commander in chief, my highest priority is the security of the American people. Over the last several years, we have consistently taken the fight to terrorists who threaten our country.
We took out Osama bin Laden and much of al-Qaida’s leadership in Afghanistan and Pakistan. We’ve targeted al-Qaida’s affiliate in Yemen and recently eliminated the top commander of its affiliate in Somalia.
Said President Obama.
We’ve done so while bringing more than 140,000 American troops home from Iraq and drawing down our forces in Afghanistan, where our combat mission will end later this year. Thanks to our military and counter-terrorism professionals, America is safer.
When I heard the President make this wishfully optimistic statement, I couldn’t help but wonder whether or not he actually believed his own words.
Not only is America NOT safer than it was before 9/11, but never in American history has this country faced such an imminent threat (that we refuse to acknowledge) as what is being posed by ISIS.
According to Top U.S. officials — ISIS poses a real and imminent threat not just to worldwide American Interests, but to the Homeland.
General Martin E. Dempsey declared to reporters in a Pentagon briefing that ISIS is a threat unlike anything that the United States has ever seen coming out of the region — including Al Qaeda.
Although Al Qaeda was indeed a radical terror-group that committed atrocious acts in the name of Islam — they are essentially the “Backstreet Boys” in comparison to the threat that ISIS currently poses to the United States.
Al Qaeda did not have the funds (or manpower) to commit large-scale terror attacks,
therefore most of their terror remained in their own backyard. This is not so with ISIS.
When ISIS invaded key Iraqi cities, once they defeated the Iraqi army and forced them into retreat — they robbed every bank within their reach and gained access to 500 Billion Iraqi Dinars ($425mil).
Furthermore, after the banks were looted — they took over large oil-refineries and have now begun selling oil as another source of Income. Their net-worth is now estimated to be roughly a Billion dollars.
This is a stark comparison between the former terror-group Al Qaeda who were essentially selling goats for guns and machetes.
Not only does ISIS have the manpower to perform large-scale attacks against America, they have the funds, resources, weapons, and most importantly — The opportunity.
Therefore for the President to imply that America is safer — is Deceptive at best.
In his address, the President Stated…
Now let’s make two things clear: ISIL is not Islamic. No religion condones the killing of innocents, and the vast majority of ISIL’s victims have been Muslim.
I was not surprised when I heard this famous line come from the Obama Administration.
It seems that whenever there is an attack on America motivated by Islamic ideologies and precepts, the first thing the President does is to resolve all blame away from Islam. In fact, even when the attacker clearly states that they are “Fighting for Islam” — The President essentially replies “No you aren’t”.
Somehow the President thinks that he decides what is “Islamic” and what is not.
Here are a few Incidents where The President responded in a similar fashion…
(Just to name a few)
It doesn’t matter what the Instance is, somehow the President’s primary goal is always to clear Islam from blame.
Although I do understand that there are some peaceful Muslims out there who don’t comply with the verses of violence that the Qur’an demands in several key scriptures — We cannot pretend that the two are completely unrelated.
Unfortunately this is the approach that The President has taken. Despite the fact that everything points back to Islam — yet The President remains in denial.
This brings me to my next point. In America, we have allowed “Political Correctness” to hinder our ability to call “Evil” by its own name.
Instead of addressing the problem, we have chosen to ignore it out of the fear of being called names such as…
And a slew of other offensive names that the mainstream-media has cooked up.
Can America address a threat if we refuse to acknowledge that it exists?
