Courtroom Reunion

While standing in Court early last year, Arthur Booth (accused burglar) was shocked when the judge asked him a question he obviously wasn’t expecting.

“Mr Booth, I have a question for you” said the judge.

“Yes Ma’m” he replied

“Did you go to Nautilus, for Middle School?” she responded.

“Oh my Goodness” said Arthur Booth with a smile.

However his smile quickly faded away as he remembered the circumstances in which he was encountering his former middle-school classmate.

Both Mindy Glazer (the judge) and Mr. Booth attended Nautilus Middle School in Miami, Florida. Upon remembering his predicament, Mr. Booth burst into tears.

Local 10 news did an interview with Melissa Miller (Booth’s cousin) in which she shared that Booth was likely overwhelmed when he saw the judge because he finally realized just how far his drug and crime filled lifestyle took him, and was ashamed because of it.

The situation was compounded even more as the judge began to reminisce on Mr. Booth and how nice he was in middle-school, even sharing that they both often played together as kids.

“This was the nicest kid in middle school. He was the best kid, I used to play football with him, all the kids, and look what has happened. I am so sorry to see this.” said Glazer.

“Good luck to you sir,” she continued. “I hope you are able to come out of this okay and just lead a lawful life.”
