Since the start of America’s war in Iraq — never before had the world heard of the now famous terror-cell known as ISIS. The group seemingly sprouted up overnight, and made a name for itself that has now exceeded the once popular Al Quaeda.
When directly addressed about the potential threat of ISIS to the safety and security of the United States — President Obama dismissed the ISIS threat by assuring the American people that ISIS posed no real threat to America.
“The analogy we use around here sometimes, and I think is accurate, is if a jv team puts on Lakers uniforms that doesn’t make them Kobe Bryant,”
Said President Obama.
“I think there is a distinction between the capacity and reach of a bin Laden and a network that is actively planning major terrorist plots against the homeland versus jihadists who are engaged in various local power struggles and disputes, often sectarian.”
Since then — we have literally watched as this alleged “JV” team has utterly taken over not only key cities in Iraq, but also banks and oil refineries.
Their net-worth has now exceeded several billion dollars. (that’s some JV team!)
Since the takeover of Iraq by ISIS, the words of President Obama have now come back to haunt him. The leader of the group sent a chilling message to America and its allies. In his message he vowed that although their flag is now being flown over Iraq
— they will not stop until the flag of Allah being flown over the White-house.
But shockingly, this was NOT the primary message.
The Leader of ISIS wanted America to know that they are NOT coming to America — because they are already here.
On August 9, 2014 — an image was uploaded to twitter from a PRO-ISIS twitter account that showed the flag of ISIS in front of the White-House.
Many argue that had the president taken this threat seriously (as all threats to the homeland should be) — the United States could have taken preventive measures (such as not evacuating Iraq, drone strikes, etc) to prevent its spread. But like the “Disease” that it is — It has already killed thousands of innocent people and forced hundreds of thousands to flee into the desert for their lives (Christians). The people are given a choice, they can either convert to Islam — or die.
Will America address this issue before its too late? Or will we ignore the underlying problem until — like Iraq — the ISIS flag is flying over the Nation’s capitol?
